Whitney Hines, founder/principal of Hines Dessin, is one of the most respected interior designers in Seattle and has been creating innovative and thought-provoking spaces for over 35 years. Ms. Hines has been honored to design for many of the most prominent corporate and philanthropic leaders in the Pacific Northwest, and create spaces that reflect their individual tastes and create an important oasis for their families. With a background in fine art and custom furniture design, Ms. Hines has a degree in Interior Design from the University of Washington. Her studies extended to the School of Architecture and Chinese, Japanese, African, European and American art history. In her early years, Ms. Hines worked for renowned designer Jean Jongeward on significant projects throughout the city. She went on to design the Ralph Lauren store in Seattle. Ms. Hines has extensive experience working with the major architectural firms in Seattle and is well versed in all areas of interior design, including mid-century modern, industrial, traditional and all things eclectic. She has a passion for antiques, auction houses and fine art. Ms. Hines has designed custom furniture in a wide variety of materials throughout her career, including fine metals, steel and custom upholstery. She loves to find accessories and art to further customize spaces. It is Ms. Hines' guiding philosophy that design should be personal, reflective and beautifully executed. Taste and quality are imperatives, and intelligent spaces must embody the specific tastes of the client.
